Moving Enterprise Apps to OpenStack-based Clouds

Complex multi-tier enterprise applications assume reliable hardware and typically have dependencies on underlying operating systems, hardware configurations, and network topologies. The boundary between one application or service and another is often unclear. These traits make many enterprise applications difficult to move entirely to a public cloud. Even today, it’s not uncommon for those who manage these applications to be unfamiliar with cloud concepts and the options available to both development and test teams.

In this session, enterprise IT architects and developers will gain insights into why the evolution of enterprise applications will lead to hybrid applications that opportunistically take advantage of cloud-based services. Brad Schick will describe how and why this evolution is happening with examples. Attendees will gain an understanding of how enterprises can start leveraging OpenStack-based public and private clouds to accelerate application development and delivery
