Core Services MySQL Database Backup and Recovery to Swift

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

If you’re running OpenStack, you rely heavily on MySQL for almost every service of your cloud infrastructure. This includes Nova, Keystone, and more. Everything might be humming along fine now but what if you have an outage? Whether it’s a catastrophic event or even improperly applying an update or schema change, losing critical data about your cloud is a possibility.

  • Do you backup the core MySQL database for your OpenStack cloud?

  • Do you perform multiple types targeted at different types of data problems?

  • Do you backup to a different location than your production data?

  • Is that location highly available, scalable, and secure?

In this session, experts in both MySQL and storage will discuss these issues. The speakers will share how Percona and SwiftStack address these issues with new open source software and proper planning. Enterprise OpenStack operators will leave this session with smart backup and storage strategies which will enable the fastest possible recovery when data problems occur.
