The traditional Disaster Recovery service providers take days to setup and bring up the environment for their customers. Is that the level of service acceptable if you plan to quickly perform routine exercise of testing or bring up the service when the real disaster strikes?

In this session, we would like to share our experiences in adapting Software Defined Environments (SDE) components on heterogeneous compute (x86 and POWER) platforms with network overlays and network function virtualization to drive the replication of the environment setup, bring-up and tear-down in few hours, improving RTO effectively. SDE, by leveraging OpenStack at the core, automates the setup of the environment and the workload deployment to enhance the business resiliency across on-prem environment.
